BACKGROUND

Gorbachev Stole My Conkers’ is an action-packed adventure set in Afghanistan during the cold war, with missing tombs, espionage and Russian plots to secure oil and gas. The story weaves between true events in the 1950s up to the Russian Invasion of Afghanistan in the late 1970s. The characters are iconic British, Russian and American politicians imagined as younger selves in a world of Agents and double-crosses; as old allies try to counter communist expansion.

Political comedy, and a spotlight on the ‘great game’ and its ripples into the 20th Century. This is a fast-paced adventure that will have you rooting for the underdog while laughing and crying at the absurdity of politics in a changing world.
